
Puliyodhirai
How to make Tamarind Rice/Puliyodhirai with rice , tamarind juice, red chilies , peanuts/groundnuts and salt.

Ingredients
- Tamarind Lemon Sizetbsptsp
- 11/2 cups Water
- 15 no's Red Chilies
- 4 tbsp Peanut/Groundnut
- 1/2 tsp Bengal Gram
- 1/2 tsp Urad Dhal/Ulutham Paruppu
- 1/4 tsp Mustard Seeds
- 1/4 tsp Fenugreek Seeds
- 1/2 tsp Turmeric Powder
- 1/4 tsp Asafetida Powder
- 5 tbsp Sesame Seed Oil
- 7 no's Curry leaves Chopped
- Salt
- 1 cup Rice Cooked
Instructions
- Pulikachal : Soak the tamarind in 1 1/2 cups of water for 30 minutes. Extract the juice.
- Heat oil in a pan add mustard seeds, allow it to splutter, add fenugreek sauté till golden brown add all the lentils allow it to become golden brown , then add red chilies curry leaves ,asafetida powder and tamarind juice. add salt and turmeric powder allow it to cook till it is thicker and running.
- Switch off flame .You can store this for a week and use it.
- Take a cup of cooked rice add 3 tbsp of tamarind gravy , 2 tsp of sesame seed oil and mix it .Serve.
