
Butter Murukku
A simple and easy indian snack recipe for Diwali or evening snack with tea or coffee made up of lentils powder and rice flour , butter.

- 1 Big Bowl
- 1 pan For Frying
- 1 pan To Roast Lentils
- Mixer
Ingredients
- 1 cup Rice Flour
- 1/2 cup Gram Flour
- 1/4 cup Roasted Yellow Lentils Flour Moong Dal Flour
- 1 tsp Butter Soft
- 2 tsp Hot Oil
- Salt
- Water To knead dough
- Oil Deep Frying
Instructions
- Roast The Yellow Lentils/ Moong Dal- In a pan take 1/2 cup yellow lentils or moong dal in a medium flame roast it to a golden yellow colour. Cool it and grind in a mixer to a smooth and fine consistency.
- Heat the oil in a medium flame. Take 2 tsp of hot oil add it to the flour mixture.
- In a bowl add rice flour,gram flour,roasted yellow lentil flour/moong dal flour,salt, hot oil, butter. Knead it to a soft smooth dough by adding water little by little without any lumps.
- Now place the star mould to a chakli or murukku maker and fix it.
- Grease the inside of the chakli maker with oil to prevent the dough sticking to the sides.
- Make a cylindrical shape of the dough and place it inside the chakli maker close it tightly with the lid.
- Make small spiral shape chakli on a butter paper seal the ends.
- Heal the oil in a pan for frying the chaklis in a medium flame.
- Slide the chaklis from the side of the pan for frying.
- Flip both sides and cook till it is golden brown in colour or crispier.
- Drain it on a paper towl to remove excess oil.
- Serve.
- Store it in a airtight container .
