Red Velvet Cake with Cream Cheese Frosting

This delicious cake is made with yoghurt , flour , egg , cocoa powder topped with cream cheese.

  • 1 Muffin Tray
  • 12 Paper Cup Liners.

Ingredients
  

  • 1 large Egg
  • 3/4 cup Sugar
  • 1 cup All Purpose Flour
  • 1 tbsp Cocoa Powder
  • 1/2 cup Oil
  • 1/2 cup Yoghurt
  • 1/2 tsp Vanilla Essence
  • 1 tsp Baking Powder
  • 1/2 tsp Baking Soda
  • 1 tbsp Red Colour
  • 1/4 tsp Salt
  • 2 tbsps Unsalted Butter for Cream Cheese Frosting
  • 1/4 cup Cream Cheese
  • 1/4 tsp Vanilla Essence
  • 3/4 cup Powdered Sugar

Instructions
 

  • Preheat oven to 350 F. Arrange the paper cup liner in the muffin tray.
  • Combine egg and sugar together in a bowl beating until light in color , add oil , vanilla essence and yoghurt mix well.
  • In a small bowl mix cocoa powder , baking powder , baking soda , salt and flour.
  • Combine the flour mix(dry ingredients) to egg , sugar mixture (wer ingredients) and mix well.
  • Fill the muffin tray(lined with paper cups) with the batter to half full.
  • Bake for 25 minutes or till the toothpick comes out clean without sticking.
  • Cream Cheese Frosting :
  • Beat together butter , cream cheese , powder sugar and vanilla essence until smooth without any lumps , fluffy and light.
  • Assemble Cake :
  • Top it with this frosting over each of the cup cake.
